Webinar Participant Questions

1.    Are you looking at any other Computer-Assisted Surgery Segments?

Yes, we cover CAS Ortho and Spine and are looking into other computer-assisted segments as well to be released in 2019.

2.    Where do you obtain your data?

We use a combination of primary and secondary research. We conduct interviews with companies, clinicians, hospitals and ASCs. We also use multiple secondary data sources, including government health statistics, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, abstracts, studies, professional societies, clinical presentations, industry reports, presentations, webcasts, annual reports, analyst reports, SEC filings, and surveys. We have multiple data sources.

3.    Do you cover products that are available in markets outside the US and EU?

Yes, for example Amplitude Surgical’s Amplivision navigation system is approved for use in Australia and Brazil.

4.   How do you arrive at your market projections?

To arrive at our market projections we triangulate the data using both a top down/bottom up approach. We start by looking at company revenues and obtain guidance by talking to companies, hospitals and surgery centers regarding revenues, procedures, reimbursement and ASPs. From the top down, our model looks at population data, disease incidence and prevalence, the estimated treatable population, referrals to specialists, and estimated current and projected use to arrive at procedure numbers and market projections. We then triangulate those numbers with our revenue data to finalize our market projections. To verify our numbers, we also consult with trusted industry sources and look at consensus data.

 5. Is SmartTRAK Financial Dashboard available for this module?

Financial Dashboard will be available in Q1 2019.

Thank you so much Elise!
