What is your role with SmartTRAK? Director of Sales

What do you like about SmartTRAK? The market intelligence data provided through the SmartTRAK platform empowers life science industry professionals to make fast and accurate decisions. They can utilize this data to solve some of their most complex problems in real time. SmartTRAK users have a competitive advantage which allows them to outpace their competitors and stay ahead in a highly dynamic medical device market.

What is something special or unique that you bring to SmartTRAK subscribers? Having had the good fortune of working for some of the most impactful organizations in the spine market, I have a strong understanding of some of the biggest challenges our customers face in today’s market. That affords me the ability to customize solutions that serve our customers in a meaningful way.

How/why did you get into the life sciences industry? My professional career began as a clinician. I witnessed the direct benefits that life sciences technologies had on my patients. Not a day passes that I am not amazed at the ingenuity of our life sciences companies. They are solving the most complex problems to ensure our hard-working physicians can deliver the best possible care to each patient.

What are your favorite online websites or resources that you check every day? After viewing the SmartTRAK daily updates, I read a quick update on the Farmington River (more to come on that) and check a few of my favorite blogs. That usually gets me through coffee #1. Then I dive into the day.

How do you stay current on what’s going on in the industry? Prior to joining BioMedGPS, I reviewed multiple feeds and emails from industry sources, connected with my network and relied on Google searches. Unfortunately, there was never one source I could lean on for everything I needed. SmartTRAK has afforded me that luxury and it saves me critical time over the course of my day.

If you could have one super power what would it be? Flying! Seriously, what could be better?

What was the last show you binge-watched? The Last Dance – the Michael Jordan documentary on ESPN. As a kid who loved playing basketball, Michael Jordan was the one we all tried to emulate in our neighborhood pick-up games. He was a larger than life figure. We all wanted to “be like Mike.” The documentary was a great look into what it takes to win. I may not agree with all of his tactics (giving Steve Kerr a shiner) but you can’t dispute the man’s will and pursuit of greatness. That is truly admirable.  

What is your life like outside of SmartTRAK? An ideal day would find me casting dry flies into one of our nation’s pristine rivers while trying to outwit some unsuspecting brown trout. More often than not, I am watching my one daughter competing on a soccer field or my other daughter rocking piano notes in a recital. Downtime for me includes learning guitar, getting outside with my wife, kids and dog, and watching live music…hopefully again one day soon!

What are you the most excited about for your upcoming year at SmartTRAK? I can’t wait to introduce the power of this platform to the people in the markets we serve. Having worked in the medical device industry for many years, I am acutely aware of the challenges organizations face as they try to remain competitive. This year we were all introduced to a unique challenge and very few in the medical device industry were able to avoid a downturn in revenue.

My goal for 2021 is to help my friends and colleagues in the medical device industry get back on top of their game and the SmartTrak platform can be a critical piece to help them do just that.
