So what did we see in store for Orthobiologics? Here are SmartTRAK’s predictions for the top market and technology trends to watch:

Balancing Sales Growth Trajectory and Portfolio Reshaping

As competition heats up, companies will continue to identify tailwinds and headwinds that sway sales growth and will reshape portfolios accordingly. Sustaining above-market growth rates will take creativity, especially in stagnate markets like spine or in areas that face access challenges. Expect focused efforts around adding/expanding higher growth-higher margin products, shedding lower growth-lower margin product lines and expanding market penetration or margins for the “low-hanging fruit” prospects....

News from AOFAS 2019: Arthrosurface’s New BOSS Toe Fixation System

By Natasha Weeks on 10/16/19 10:00 AM

SmartTRAK Interviews Carl Hasselman, MD about Arthrosurface’s alternative to toe fusions

Arthrosurface showcased its new BOSS Toe Fixation System at the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society’s (AOFAS 2019) Annual Meeting held September 11–15 in Chicago, IL. Recently 510k cleared, the system improves stabilization in a first metatarsal with a distal bone void. The Boss Toe Screw fills the current product gap in implant solutions for failed synthetic implants. The system provides an option for patients who want to avoid a toe fusion while regaining motion and enjoying an active lifestyle.

To find out more about the new BOSS Toe Fixation System, its benefits, and how it fits in Arthrosurface’s existing line of HemiCAP DF implants and ToeMotion Systems, SmartTRAK interviewed Carl Hasselman, MD, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, at AOFAS 2019.

Insera Therapeutics: An Interview with the Founders

By Anne Staylor on 10/11/19 9:30 AM

Insera Therapeutics takes vacuum aspiration therapy to a new level with a disruptive digital design and cyclical aspiration for mechanical thrombectomy

Insera Therapeutics’ co-founders and brothers Vikram Janardhan and Vallabh Janardhan, MD saw an opportunity in the market for acute ischemic stroke and have developed a next generation, all digital vacuum aspiration system for mechanical thrombectomy designed to take suction aspiration to a new level. Unlike traditional analog electromechanical vacuum aspiration systems, which provide uniform, static aspiration, the Company’s CLEAR Aspiration System allows users to layer cyclical or pulsatile aspiration on top of uniform aspiration. By marrying a computer to a vacuum pump, Insera’s Clear Aspiration System can be finely controlled, and allows users to create their own cyclical wave patterns remotely using an iPad controller.

The Company recently received CE Mark for the Clear Aspiration System with a broad indication beyond stroke, and research to date suggests the technology provides better transmission suction to the tip, improves the first pass effect and decreases emboli in new territory.

To find out more about Insera Therapeutics, the technology and what’s next for the Company, SmartTRAK interviewed CEO Vikram Janardhan and Chief Medical Officer Vallabh Janardhan, MD, at the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS) Annual Meeting in Miami Beach, FL held July 22-26, 2019.
